Best Books of 2020

If nothing else, this year was decent for reading. Even though I took time off of reviewing, I remained a pretty strict rater. Not a lot of books made 5 stars for me this past year. Nonetheless, I enjoyed reading more by not forcing myself to do any challenges, not pushing myself to review anything, and just going with whatever my mood called for. I am a mood reader and I must accept that and stop forcing myself to into any reading boxes.

In no particular order, here are my favorites from 2020:

I’m almost done with Dune Messiah, I plan to finish it tomorrow night, and I am just going to go ahead and name my top two books of 2020 as such:

What were some of your top reads of 2020?

  1. While I have huge reservations about the new Dune movie, part of me hopes it succeeds beyond imagination just so we’ll get the sequel books as movies. While the Scyfy channel tried with their miniseries, and they did the best they could, I want a full movie production of at least up to God Emperor…

      1. Being extra judgy about movies based on fantastic books is our prerogative. If we don’t do it, every one else will think movies are better than the books. And that cannot be.

  2. I haven’t read any of these, including Warbreaker which I believe is still free, right? But major congratulations on finishing TWO Dune books in 5 days. That’s… really impressive.

    1. As much as I would love to claim that I read two Dune novels in 5 days, I did not lol. The first one took a decent amount of time since it was so thick back in November. 🙂
I’m not sure about Warbreaker being free. I’ve had the book sitting on my shelf for years and finally read it thanks to my BFF choosing for me since I could not decide what to read. :3 I have yet to go wrong reading Sanderson though.

      1. Haha oh well. I guess it’s still impressive that you read the second Dune in 5 days! 😁

Oh, you used to be able to (still can!) get the ebook for free over on his website.

    1. Lol, oh if you found the show annoying, I don’t think you would enjoy the books. The show actually does a very good job of following the short story collection, and Henry Cavill does an excellent job playing Geralt. (He read the books and played the games and wanted to BECOME Geralt. I think he accomplished that mission.)

  3. Here’s to another great year in books! 😀 I saw your Goodreads 2021 reading challenge and it made me so excited for a brand new year of reading. I am pumped for our Buddy Read too! ❤

    1. I’m planning to bust out the next HP book tonight! 😀 I’m excited to get back to reviewing too but I don’t think I’ll review HP since I haven’t on any of our rereads, plus, that’s too much pressure. Lol.
