Banana Cream Pie

I’ve never made a pie before so this was my attempt at one. I did not make the crust myself. I used graham cracker crust instead of regular pie crust.

End result was……Eh. Honestly it turned out like banana pudding in pie crust. It tasted fine but wasn’t what I wanted. I couldn’t get the “cream” to fluff.

    Banana cream pie is one of my favorite pies. Sorry to hear it didn’t turn out how you were hoping it would texture-wise. Looks great though!

      1. Ah, yeah, that’s the sucky thing with bananas. :/ If you dip them in lemon juice first they’ll not oxidize as quickly. 🙂
        So, you said the inside was kind of like banana pudding, did it taste as good as your southern banana pudding you make?

      2. Ah, gotcha. Oooh, I bet you could make a really good vanilla wafer crust like people do when they make oreo crusts just by grinding up the wafers and mixing with melted butter and pressing into a pie dish! :O

  2. Pie crust is such a beast to make. I usually go for the premade ones, too, and graham cracker is break for a banana cream (or banana pudding) pie. Sorry it didn’t turn out quite the way you wanted, but hopefully it was still good as hell!
