How Dare You Use Profanity!

It’s not often that I really tear a book that I didn’t like down, but two years ago I did just that to a book that I really hated. Every few months now I get someone pissed off at me for it and it’s the funniest thing. Mostly, they yell at me for my profanity or try to insult my intelligence for not seeing it’s apparently very fucking hidden splendor. Even better is when they tell me what I should or should not put in my book reviews.

[I’m imagining you all laughing maniacally along with me right here.]

The very best part is that when you check out this book’s Goodreads page, my review is the very first one to come up. Because, thanks to these fuck nuggets, every time they’ve commented, more people have liked it. By trying to knock me down, they’ve risen me to the top ranks and now everyone will see what I have to say about that book.

Teach those fuckers to try to tell me to do anything. MWAHAHA.

Damn the person that spread this sickness to me! Ain’t nobody got time for that.

I currently have the head cold of the century (or at least it feels that way) and it’s seriously cramping my style. I have had so much do this past week and the bare minimum has been done. I did happen to knock out some comics though thanks to having zero initiative to read anything that requires more focus.

Tomorrow we’re throwing a 30th birthday party for my husband’s best friend and there is still so much to do. I love hosting parties though since we bought our house. (It’s already been almost a year since we closed, crazy!) I’ve probably pinned half a million party ideas on Pinterest and look forward to implementing so many of them. But, the next 36 hours is going to require so much more energy than I have. Time to drown myself in caffeine and PCP. (I kid.)

C&M’s Book Blogging Confessions

I am unapologetically stealing Drew @ The Tattooed Book Geek’s idea to confess his blogging sins. That boy is quite the sinner and we’re both unashamed assholes, so who better to inspire listing all the reasons why I’m kind of a prick?

  1. I swear a lot. Although now that I’m thinking about it, I think I might not swear enough on the blog. IRL I could challenge sailors to a profanity duel.

2. Also like Drew, I don’t blog every day because….

3. I trash books I hate and I don’t feel bad about that. Not one shred of guilt here.

4. I think some of the publishing companies that give away ARCs on Netgalley have stupid rules. But I may not even match that rule, I’m just paranoid that I do and it’s holding me back from a book I really wanted.

4. Sometimes I pad posts with memes and/or gifs because me brain no worky right first thing the start of day.

5. This is my most guilty confession: if you mostly review romance novels, I do not follow you back. There is no way I’m ever going to read that review or have a single thing to say about it, so why pretend?

I can’t say that I feel cleansed now. I think I’m snuggling with all my sins because I’m completely okay with them.

Advice, I need it.

A goodreads friend that I hardly know asked me to read their book. I agreed because I actually thought it was a non-fiction adult book but turns out it’s a children’s book. I use that description loosely. I read it yesterday and it’s the most awful thing. Part of me wonders if I’m being trolled and the other wonders if this person legitimately thinks they did a good job.

My question to you is; Should I review honestly or one-star it and walk away?

Coffee, Books, Life.

Mmmm, coffee. I’m pretty sure it makes the world go round. I’m not a tea fan. I’ve tried a couple different kinds and it mostly reminds me of hot dirt water. Green tea may be the exception, but I’ve only had it iced from Panera. To be fair, I think black coffee tastes like dirt water too. Mine is filled with creamer and sugar and that’s the way it will remain.

I haven’t baked a thing yet this year. While I was feeling bad about that, I realized that I will be baking my proverbial balls off in the next couple of months. First, I’m throwing a baby shower for my sister-in-law. I’ve never thrown a baby shower, I don’t even like babies. I have room for like, 5 children in my life and when these twins are born, they’ll occupy the last 2 spots. Second, birthday season at work is approaching. It’s three months straight of birthdays and I’m pretty much always picked to make the desserts. So, I guess I’ll be making up for that soon.

I’m currently absorbed in and loving, The Crimson Campaign. I read the first book in the trilogy YEARS ago and just neglected to continue because as I’ve said before, I have series ADD. I received another approval via Netgalley and I still have to squeeze in that children’s book before my free month of Kindle Unlimited is up. I need more spare time!

Add to that, should my coworker fail to be able to go, I’ll be going on a business trip for work at the end of February. My spring suddenly became so busy.

Anywho, I was just having a morning of coffee and contemplation. What do you think about while waking up with a cup of joe or hot dirt water?

The Christmas Tag!

I freaking LOVE Christmas. I LOVE giving people presents. Ignited Moth posted this tag and I’m totally doing it too.

giphy1

1.) What is your favorite Christmas film?

Home Alone, Home Alone 2, How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.

2.) Is your Christmas tree real or fake?

Real. We were going to buy a new fake one but turns out, decent ones are pretty expensive. So this year it will be real and next year we’ll invest in a new fake one.

3.) What is your favorite Christmas song?

Ooooo. I’m not actually a huge fan of Christmas songs. If I did have to pick though it would probably be Jingle Bell Rock.

4.) Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?

Like a child, I still go to bed early and get up at like 6 am. My husband hates it but I run through the house with the dogs Christmas morning, banging on doors, waking people up to open presents. >:D

5.) Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?

YES. One small present each.

6.) What tops your Christmas tree?

A lit up star.

8.) What is the best thing about Christmas for you?

Giving people presents and hopefully seeing an expression of joy on their faces when they open them.

9.) What is your favorite festive food or treat?

Hmmm. I really enjoy all the chocolate peppermint things that come out this time of year.

10.) What is top of your Christmas wish list this year?

Ignited Moth’s wish is also mine lmao.

Everyone: Feel free to participate if you like! Free will and joy to the world and all that jazz!

Fur Covered Sofas = Home

Since we bought our house in June, we’ve been operating with a recliner in the living room and the entertainment center. That’s about it. I mean, it’s not like we had a ton of money when we decided to buy a house, then we had vehicles problems until we recently gave up and got a lease. So, half a million things were more important than a couch but, HOLY HELL IS IT AWESOME HAVING A FUCKING COUCH AGAIN.

Some serious coffee drinking, reading, blogging, and let’s be honest, napping are about to happen on this new gray beauty.

Dog approved. Which is good because we bought it with them in mind. Just like we bought the house with them in mind. I mean if reincarnation was real, I would want to come back as one of my dogs.

Frost & Flurries

af0fd06575b946e8ac4ea0c150ad2a86-driving-memes-its-funny

If I’ve mentioned it once, I’ve mentioned it a thousand times. Michigan is always drunk when it comes to weather. We can have all four seasons in one day. This morning I woke up to the first full frost of the year. I have a feeling we’re in a for a nasty winter since last year’s was so week. (It rained and was cold the whole winter. It maybe snowed twice and neither time did it stay for longer than 24 hours.) My dad texts that they’re about to get hit with a snowstorm tonight, less than two days before we venture up to where I grew up in Northern Lower Michigan.

tuesday

I’ll make the trip up north, snowstorm or not because I haven’t been up there in over a year and a half. We deserve a mini-vacation. Plus, when winter does hit, I fully intend to become a hermit and never leave my house except for work and food. (It will probably be my busiest blog season yet! Cabin fever is real thing.) I look forward to an awesome Winter of Epic Fantasy once the snow descends.
