Instagram & Authors

After a year of shenanigans on Instagram. I’ve had some fun and learned some things. One of which is that, if you’re a bookworm, it’s the place for you. Not only are there plenty of bookstagrammers to follow and ogle their pretty books, but it’s a great place to interact with your favorite authors as well. Recently, Brian McClellan, author of the Powder Mage trilogy, requested bookstagrammers to read his new UF series and give feedback and I was lucky enough that he said yes to my request. This gave me the idea for this post, link a few authors and why their IG accounts are fun to follow.

Brandon Sanderson  regularly signs his books in random bookstores in airports and then lets you know where you can find them.

Kevin Hearne – travels a lot, posts interesting food and cocktail drinks. Shares his fondness for whiskey.

Brian McClellan – besides ARC offers, he posts his cat and dogs, and his cooking.

Delilah S. Dawson – she gets up to a lot of shenanigans. Conventions, pets, Star Wars and her friendship with homie Kevin Hearne.

Chuck Wendig – posts a lot of beautiful outdoor pictures from his daily runs.

Who are some of your favorite authors to follow on IG?

Bookstagram – Week 19

A wee bit unrelated but I spent the other day doing something to the blog that I should have done years ago. Creating tabs at the top of the pages to easily navigate different subjects on the blog. It looks so much better. Procrastination, I am Queen of it. (It also made me realize that there are several subjects I have been neglecting. I’ll work on fixing that…..eventually.)

I’ve only been averaging about a book a week but I’m okay with that considering just how busy life has been lately. You can follow me on Instagram here.

Bookstagram – Week ?

I didn’t actually forget about posting my bookstagram photos on here. I just spent some time reading several books off of my Kindle and let’s face it, pictures of your ebook device are just not as fun OR pretty. Therefore the past couple of weeks have been photos of my dogs and cat for the most part. But they’re freaking adorable so feel free to go check them out as well.

My final opinion on Truthwitch here.

Bookstagram – Week 1

I know not everyone uses Instagram so I decided to attempt (I say attempt because I’m easily distracted) to do a weekly review of my awesome book related posts here on my blog. But if you DO have Instagram, you can follow me here.

C&M 2018 Evolution

I’ve been considering a few things about the blog for a couple of months now and I will be putting them into action in 2018.

First – I will be changing my book review format for a more professional approach. That’s something I’ve been thinking about doing for a long time and just never got around to it.

Second – I joined Netgalley. I’m hoping to get approved for some pretty awesome books but since I currently am at zero reviews and feedback on the site, I may have to start with some not so awesome or at least requested less ARCs. It will be an adventure nonetheless.

Third – I joined Instagram with the intent of it being a Bookstagram at least 90% of the time. I can’t promise that the animals won’t make an appearance here and there as they are freaking adorable. I’m still not entirely sure what I’m doing on that website yet but you can follow me (and I’ll follow you in return) anyway: C&M Bookstagram

I’m really excited for these new ventures in blogging and social media and hope to really grow this blog in 2018. (Quickly approaching 350 followers as it is. You guys are amazing!)
