White Line Fever – Book Review

“Everything was going to be wonderful and huge women would get a hold of me and do things to me with raw carrots – you know, shit like that. Of course, it didn’t happen quite that way.”

There is nothing quite like reading the adventures of a heavy metal god. Because do not forget kids, Lemmy is God. *Winks at Grab the Lapels*

Since the day he was born, Lemmy was bound to be different. I mean, he was Born to Raise Hell and he did it well. He always marched to the beat of a different drum and they were rock and roll drums. (Heavy metal drums did not exist yet.) Raised in the birthplace of the rock scene, Lemmy has tales to tell about bands that have long since been forgotten or remained infamous for all time. He had to tell their stories because Dead Men Tell No Tales.

You see what I’m doing here?

I’m not going to promise to stop because I have No Class.

There are definitely problematic things here. Lemmy admits them, but also excuses them, like sex with 16-year-olds back when no one cared about such things. I am not sure that is actually the case but this was before I was alive so it’s probably true to a degree.

This book covers his life up until around 2002 and he never wrote more about it despite continuing his adventures until he was Killed by Death in 2015.

I’m So Bad.

I Ain’t No Nice Guy.

White Line Fever is everything that you think it would be. Fast paced, drug riddled, sex laced, vulgar, rock and roll gold.

October Week 3: A Virus Strikes

This past week was a little less eventful in the Halloween department. Only because we attended a metal concert (Midnight, Abbath and Obituary) Tuesday night and I’m pretty sure that’s where I picked up this lovely little virus I’m currently battling. So every night, after work, was pretty much me relaxing and then sleeping. Each day I feel a little bit more human but man, I haven’t had that bad of a sore throat in a long time. I actually had to take pain meds because it felt so awful and swollen.

Now, I’m mostly a mucus factory so that’s an improvement. 😀

Watching

I had thought I had seen this movie earlier in life but upon watching it with Mr. C&M (it’s one of his favorites), I realized I never have. It was fun. 100% 80s horror movie. (Currently available on Amazon Prime.) 4/5 stars

Another movie I’ve managed to never see. This one was pretty cheesy. It’s one of those I would recommend you watch at least once, so you can say you’ve seen it, but then you’ll probably never watch again. (Currently on Netflix.) 3/5 stars

Reading

I just finished Nightwise last night. I really enjoyed it and I’ll review it later in the week.

Treats

Well, with being sick, nothing really happened in the treat department. Soup season has definitely begun though!

We went and began purchasing parts of our Halloween costumes today. This coming Saturday we have a Harry Potter party to attend, thrown by Mr. C&M’s friend and coworker. She’s been planning it for months and it’s going to be 100% Harry Potter related so we’re pretty excited about it.

We also picked up our pumpkins. They’re currently sitting in the dining room warming up so we can carve them soon.

What are you dressing up as this Halloween?

Dear Kathy Griffin,

Please go home. You made the decision to go big or go home and you lost. You knew this photo shoot was going to be controversial when you were doing it and now you’re crying crocodile tears. Do you know why you lost this battle? Because you caved to pressure. You apologized when you shouldn’t have. Stand by your convictions or stop standing up for things if you can’t take the heat.

The Trump family is bullying you? Big surprise there, but let’s be honest, this is how many families would react when a family member is insulted. They rally the wagons, right or wrong. Let’s be honest again, Kathy, you’ve been a bully to other people a number of times over the years, doesn’t feel too good to be on the receiving end now does it?

Death threats? Again, how did you not see that coming? Trump has an incredible amount of orc-shit crazy supporters. Apparently, no one warned you about poking crazy people.

Throwing metal bands who have been criticizing politicians for eons under the bus? Cowardly. Don’t blame other protesters for getting away with things that you couldn’t. You tried to make it about the fact that you’re a woman and they’re men so they didn’t get punished. No. They didn’t get punished because they have the backbone to stand up to their actions and suffer any consequences. Example: GWAR’s response was 100% GWAR; “GWAR doesn’t apologize. Ever.”

Lastly, the picture wasn’t even good. The metal bands all did it better.
