Welcome, 2023!

Well, I just kind of disappeared there, didn’t I?

The holidays started to kick into full gear, and I just rode that crazy tidal wave into 2023. Sorry for the total absence but it did me some good to step away for a bit.

Ridley loved his first Christmas! To be honest, that is the thing that I cared about the most this year. The poor boy has known nothing but torture before 6 months ago and I intend to spoil him absolutely rotten for the rest of his life. He was showered in toys and treats and now he really wishes Christmas was every week.

On the 30th, Melanie and her husband Nick came to town to engage in various shenanigans. She got to meet Moth in person for the first time and the boys all met each other. They ran off without us immediately to try some craft beers. We ate good food, bowled terribly (except Nick), and laughed a LOT. It was great time and I’m so thankful to count Melanie and Nick in our friend circle. ❤

On NYE, we hung out with Mr. and Mrs. Moth and their fur child (and BFF to Ridley) Noi. It was a very chill evening, just the way we like to ring in the new year. The fur children wrestled endlessly but we also forced them to wear pajamas for pictures. I would like to think we embarrassed them, but they seemed to enjoy themselves.

I for one, am ready for a new year. 2022 sucked for our household and I have hope that things turn around in 2023. I’m not sure whether or not I’m even going to try for any resolutions this go around. I might to see where the wind takes us.

How as your New Year’s Eve? What was your favorite part?

Merry Jolly Holidays!

It’s almost Christmas and I find myself STILL needing to complete shopping for a couple of people and grab a few more things for Christmas dinner/dessert. So, I thought I would take a moment to say Happy Holidays to all my blog friends before I disappear for roughly 3-4 days.

Happy Holidays!

I hope you have a wonderful time and give/get wonderful things and eat delicious food. We all deserve it. ❤

Fa-La-La-La Chaos

I survived my holiday trip north but I also survived……my first ever Black Friday shopping!

I’ve only ever worked on the dreaded craziest retail day of the year. I took it off for our trip north this year so I thought I’d revive the Black Friday tradition that my aunt had with my grandmother before she passed away.

Well folks….I don’t think I ever need to do it again. Lol. Once was enough, curiosity sated.

The plus side is that I did make some head way with shopping for people, including Mr. C&M. Now, I have to get the house clean so I can decorate. (Also, we have to buy a new fake tree.) The way my brain works, everything must be clean before the decorations go up. We’ve barely been home lately, so I’ve got some work cut out of me.

I love Christmas. It’s second only to Halloween for me. I just love getting gifts for the people in my life that matter the most.

Hopefully, I will squeeze in some holiday baking as well.

I haven’t finished Red Mars yet, it’s just so slow going, but I’m really looking forward to no more themed reading. I’m not a Christmas book person so it’s a free for all on what I read next.

Do you enjoy Christmas or are you a Scrooge?

The Christmas Tag!

I freaking LOVE Christmas. I LOVE giving people presents. Ignited Moth posted this tag and I’m totally doing it too.

1.) What is your favorite Christmas film?

Home Alone, Home Alone 2, How the Grinch Stole Christmas and Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.

2.) Is your Christmas tree real or fake?

Real. We were going to buy a new fake one but turns out, decent ones are pretty expensive. So this year it will be real and next year we’ll invest in a new fake one.

3.) What is your favorite Christmas song?

Ooooo. I’m not actually a huge fan of Christmas songs. If I did have to pick though it would probably be Jingle Bell Rock.

4.) Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?

Like a child, I still go to bed early and get up at like 6 am. My husband hates it but I run through the house with the dogs Christmas morning, banging on doors, waking people up to open presents. >:D

5.) Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?

YES. One small present each.

6.) What tops your Christmas tree?

A lit up star.

8.) What is the best thing about Christmas for you?

Giving people presents and hopefully seeing an expression of joy on their faces when they open them.

9.) What is your favorite festive food or treat?

Hmmm. I really enjoy all the chocolate peppermint things that come out this time of year.

10.) What is top of your Christmas wish list this year?

Ignited Moth’s wish is also mine lmao.
