Well that was a HELL of a good Halloween folks! We had an absolutely fangtastic Halloween with our BFFs for the entire weekend.
Saturday we hit the cider mills and dropped by a random cidery that we found along the way. The first place we stopped was definitely the best. They made their own hard cider and beer along with donuts and other baked goodies. Honestly, we probably could have just hung out there the whole day but we had exploring to do!

We followed that up with a home cooked meal and jack-o-lantern carving:

Sunday, we hit the road down to Hell. The drive was amazing thanks to the autumn colors and we met up with a couple more friends. We all played putt putt while a gentleman sang Halloween-themed songs in the background. Dracula rap anyone? Lunch was at the infamous Hell Saloon which did not disappoint for a second time in a row despite being super busy.
After that, we kind of just wandered around Hell, checking things out. There’s a chapel where you can get married and several people were. Here Mr. C&M and I are thinking we’re really cool for getting married on Halloween but these folks one upped us. They were married in Hell on Halloween.

We rounded out the night by deciding to NOT give away the candy that Ignited Moth and her husband bought to kids but to instead, avoid the germs and eat all the candy ourselves while watching John Carpenter’s The Thing. (Which I had somehow never seen and am now fully in love with.)

Super big shout out thanks to Ignited Moth and her husband for making this one our most memorable Halloweens yet! ❤
Now, onto Science Fiction November! Do you plan to participate and how?
If you liked The Thing, there are a ton of adaptations for your perusal, both in print and movie form.
I didn’t know there was a book. 😀
Well, it was a short story.
“Who Goes There” by John W Campbell, from the golden age of SF 🙂
Good to know! Thanks. 🙂
That sounds like a blast! I’m getting married next Halloween, just not in hell.
That’s still awesome! It was so much fun. You won’t regret it. Congratulations!
OMG John Carpenter’s The Thing is one of my favorite movies ever! So many years and it’s still holding up so well as one of the creepiest jump-sceney film I’ve ever seen!
It was SO good. Moth has been telling me for years how good it is. It’s one of her top favs. I just somehow never got around to it until now. Definitely jumped to my top horror movie list.
Aww, happy anniversary! I have not seen The Thing for some reason. Possibly because alien/outer space horror really freaks me out? There’s always something going INTO a human body, whether it’s a killer germ or a xenomorph, and that creeps me out.
My god, you have to see this then! There are three versions of this movie. Make sure you choose the John Carpenter version. 🙂
Always Carpenter! I’ve been a fan since Big Trouble in Little China.
Aww, we had such a blast too. It was the perfect Halloween weekend! ❤ 😀
Ahhh The Thing is such a foundational alien horror movie! I know what it’s about but I still need to watch it. Sounds like you had a (I’m so sorry…) HELL of a good time 😀
Haha, we did have a HELL of a good time! I am so in love with The Thing. I would watch it over again right now.
Wilfred Brimly FTW!
Sounds like you had a Hell of a time on Halloween!
See what I did there?
I made a pun.
It’s like a funny, but instead of laughing – you groan instead!
😉
Oh you would groan and laugh so much if you had heard all of us while we were in Hell. 😛
Thank you for sacrificing and eating that candy yourselves. LOL
It was a tough sacrifice to make! 😛
