I mean….truth. Sure, reading is fun but so are photos/memes/gifs.
I’ve been a bit of a scatter brain lately, I meant to address this stuff in my Bookish Resolutions post but I did…….not.
Mr. C&M poked fun at me in 2020 for backing off of blogging. As he pointed out, I was being lazy about it the instant people were looking for new content to keep them entertained while trapped at home. It was a fair point BUT work became hell at that point and mental health became a prerogative. (Not to mention he jumped in the game streaming ocean both feet first, so one of us was doing the world a content favor anyway.)
Despite my lack of activity, the blog continued to grow in 2020. I’m now up to 886 followers and I just want to say THANKS for joining me AND for hanging in there while I wasn’t posting much.
All that being said, with my new fancy laptop, my motivation has seemed to return. The hope is to be posting twice weekly again, at bare minimum once a week.
I’ve also decided to return to writing book reviews. *insert cheering masses here* I’m going to be more relaxed about it than I used to be however. It became a job at one point and then I stopped enjoying it. So, I’m only going to really review anything that makes me feel strongly one way or the other. Mediocre books produce lame reviews when it comes to me, so I’ll either skip them altogether or do mini-reviews at the end of the month.
I would also like to revive Mr. C&M’s craft beer review section, although since we’re still not going places and he’s not drinking that much, that one might be a little while.
Lastly, I spruced up the front page of the blog. Probably nothing too noticeable though, changed some fonts and colors. Maybe this will be there year that I actually figure out how to do more things with WordPress. I only recently figured out how to do photo galleries if that tells you just how little I’ve tried anything past basic posts.
SO THERE.
Those are my big plans. Hopefully 2021 doesn’t take a big fat dump all over them.

I would highly encourage you to at least do a mini-review post of the books you didn’t feel like reviewing so if you ever need to reference them, you have them handy. Unless you review them all at devilsreads anyways. Then that is your reference place.
Glad to hear you plan on being more active but don’t over do it. Jog a little bit to warm up before trying to get back into the race fully 😀
Haha, excellent advice! If there is a week that I really don’t feel like doing much, I won’t. I don’t want to burn myself out again either.

I probably will do the monthly mini-reviews (provided I have enough that it makes sense) because those might be fun in their own light. “This was lame for THIS reason!” 🙂

I think it’s just that neither of us had ever seen it before, and now I’ve seen it and he hasn’t. He looks at me like I said I saw an alien, like “I believe” in some weird X-Files way.
Sounds like a solid plan. Do you find that, even though, having so many followers it’s really only a smaller bunch you liaise with? I do. Maybe some just read and don’t comment or like. To be honest it doesn’t bother me but it does make me wonder who all these followers are? Haha. I’m happy to have at least one comment because it means I’m not talking to myself haha. I like your posts, always have. I like the humour and those yummy recipes. The boutique beer bit sounds fun.
Oh I’m sure a large portion of them are probably spam, but I don’t care enough to go through all of them to find out lol. There is definitely a smaller portion that I actually talk to and interact with. I’m not sure how those bloggers with thousands of followers manage it. It has to take up a huge portion of their day. Boutique beer? HAHAHA. I guess that’s kind of right but craft beer is a huge thing in Michigan. 😛
Ahhhh they call it boutique beer here. I believe it’s the same thing. Usually some kind of fancy beer with names like “The Horny Frog” or “Gypsy Goat” haha. As long as it’s beer I’ll bloody drink it.
Yeah, that sounds about right! “Bean Flicker” and “Dirty Bastard” are my favorite names that I can think of off the top of my head.

Boy do I under the “book reviews becoming a job.” I feeling that for them and my game reviews. I still enjoy doing them when I have the time/energy, but I’m so behind. You’re streaming?? Are you on Twitch? I need the deets! Also that gif at the end is killing me LOL.
No, Mr. C&M is doing the streaming and I think you already followed him on Twitch. I did do one stream with him on Halloween where we did a full run of Castle Crashers. 🙂

Haha I can totally understand that. I started a review for a graphic novel I read recently and I’m having that exact problem. After being stumped for days I decided to switch and just do an art post. 😛 Hopefully I can get it together soon! lol
