Blogging Anniversary Q&A

I didn’t intend to wait a whole week to answer questions but that’s just what happened and you know what? I am a-okay with that because you guys came up with some interesting questions and the blog officially hit 700 followers. Thanks for that!

Now let’s get to it.

  1. Hot or Cold? (As in weather and beverages.)

A. For weather, chilly. That’s right, I commit to nothing but autumn weather! If there was somewhere that it was autumn 24/7, that’s where I would move to. Beverages, hot coffee. I like cold coffee drinks too but even during hot weather in the summer, I need hot coffee to start my day.

2. Why blog?

A. I wanted something different to do. I read all the time, I read the internet way too often. I started reading other people’s blogs and thought it might fun. It took me two tries but on the second try, when I changed topics, it was fun.

3. What are your opinions on thongs? And do you own many pair?

A. Damn Aussies, always gotta make fun of the difference of dialect. πŸ˜› I still don’t 100% know whether this means the footwear or the underwear and frankly, I’m afraid to google it. The footwear, fine. I own a pair as I like to be as barefoot as possible in the summer. The underwear, well I don’t want to see anyone in their thongs to be honest lol. I’m sure there is a pair or two lurking in our house for sexy time with Mr. C&M. πŸ˜‰

4. Which character (book, movie, or TV) do you identify with most and why?

A. Throw down the ultimate question gauntlet why don’t you? The first answer that springs to mind is Sabrina from the Netflix series. I like getting dark and spooky, but I’m nice and just want to enjoy life with my friends and loved ones even if there’s always someone trying to ruin it. Plus, I really wish magic was real.

5. Why did you start the blog, and why did you restart your blog?

A. Originally, I started the blog to vent my frustrations about the world and people at large. Although, I did it in an anonymous manner as I was paranoid that someone would figure out who I was and who I was talking about. When I restarted the blog, it was to focus on book reviews, random things I enjoy and still do a little bit of the same thing. However, I don’t hide behind anonymity anymore. I try to be a very honest person, even if people don’t like it.

6. What blog posts are you most proud of?

A. I enjoy all my book reviews but I think the one I love the most, just personally, is the one venting my frustration with Kathy Griffin when she did the stupid Trump pic that got her in trouble.

7. How would you describe your blog in 3 words to someone who is new to reading it?

A. Shenanigans, reading, and humorous. (I think I’m funny and that’s not up for debate.)

8. Do you own an actual machete?

A. I’m really surprised that no one has asked this until now. I don’t! But Ignited Moth does and she’ll loan it to me if I need to hack someone up. πŸ˜‰

9. If you could only have one kind of cake for the rest of your life, what cake and why?

A. Cheesecake. I don’t have a good reasoning for this.

10. What genre would you never read?

A. ‘Never’ is a strong word. I like to think that I’m open to trying just about any genre at least once but if I had to pick one right off the top of my head to ignore forever, it would definitely be erotica. I like plenty of books that have sex in them, it’s just that sex isn’t the whole point of the book.

11. What is your unpopular bookish opinion?

A. I find it horrifying that anyone would write on the margins of pages in a book. Text books I’m a little more understanding of but you’ll never catch me doing it in a million years.

12. What do you love most about blogging?

A. The perfect question to end this Q&A. I can say with 100% certainty, the fun people I’ve met. I love chatting with people from all over the world about common interests and learning about fandoms that I’ve never been introduced to before. (I’m looking at all you Warhammer modellers out there.) It’s probably half of what keeps me going with the blog. I enjoy rambling about things I like and finding other interesting people to chat with.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to think up a question. I had a blast answering them and who knows, here’s to 7 more years of blogging!

  1. Nice! I AM surprised you don’t own a machete, but I can also understand at the same time.

And amen to not seeing anyone in a thong. I think we all can do without that, thank you very much.

      1. You can buy them at your local garden supply store. Great for getting rid of clinging vines, bamboo, rowdy neighbors πŸ˜‰
The list just goes on and on!

  2. Love your answers! Again, congratulations on all those years of blogging and now for reaching 700 followers! πŸ˜€ I have to admit that I chuckled at the thong question. I don’t know which devil asked you this (I could probably find out though hahah) but you definitely knew how to handle that situation! πŸ˜€

  3. Thanks for answering my question! I met Samantha Irby, author of Meaty and We’re Never Meeting in Real Life, at a reading about a year ago. She started with a blog called Bitches Gotta Eat. You will learn EVERYTHING about her — really embarrassing stuff — and it’s clear who she is. I asked her if she was afraid of what her coworkers or employer might say if they found her blog, and she replied that she wouldn’t work for the kind of place that tries to censor employees on personal time. Although I thought that must be a nice privilege, I realized that Irby doesn’t make a ton of money, has been homeless, both parents are dead, etc., so it’s not like she has a back-up net. I really thought that was amazing of her to say.

    1. Unless I said really hateful things, I don’t think I would have lost my job if my boss found my blog. Thankfully. It was more, complaining about the people we were living with at the time and my in-laws. Lol.

  4. Patrick Stewart drinking whiskey in a knit beanie is the only appropriate way to end this post. I’ve enjoyed your shenanigans greatly. I’ve added a bunch of awesome books based on your recommendations. I actually just started reading Traitor’s Blades the other day πŸ˜€
