Coffee & A Chat – Puzzles

Mr. Cupcakes and Machetes has long cried his love for puzzles. So for years, people (mostly Ms. Moth and myself) have bought him puzzles and he’s never sat done once and done them. Then, he got sick and it was finally time to slow down enough and try one out. (This very nearly become a post complaining about the healthcare system here but alas, I have neither the time nor energy to accurately portray our frustration.) Turns out they are rather fun and he now plans to work through our puzzle backlog. We argue half the time because he insists on working on the border first and then the inside, and I do whatever the hell I feel like doing. πŸ˜€ Despite that, it’s actually great quality time together. We listen to podcasts and chat about random things and swear a lot at this particular puzzle:

Mario, you beautiful bitch.

Do you puzzle? Give me all your puzzle secrets!

  1. I don’t puzzle. But when I did a couple as a teenager I always did the border first too. The smooth outside edges gave them away so you had some clue of where to start πŸ™‚

  2. I haven’t done a jigsaw puzzle in many years. I could see one being quite therapeutic right now after reading your post, though. Being sick myself at the moment, I can’t concentrate on my usual zen of painting, and don’t have the concentration for watching tv or playing videogames…

    1. That’s pretty much why he finally sat down and started one, he can’t concentrate on video games or reading or any tv show that is too in depth. If you have one laying around, maybe you should give it a try. πŸ™‚

    1. I believe it’s jigsaw law. So it’s JigsLaw. Coleslaw would be nice while doing a jigsaw. It’d be JugSlaw. I could do this all day but I need to cut up some chicken

  3. Cool puzzle!
I used to do them when i was a kid. Nowadays, nope… i don’t really have space πŸ˜€
My BF claims he likes puzzles too, but he’s always “busy” so prolly he would not do them either…
