Why yes, I have decided that these little coffee chats may become a semi-regular thing as I enjoy them. Just a little time to ramble on about life or whatever topic seems to be on my mind on an early Sunday morning, sipping the world’s best beverage.
Yesterday was a beautiful 67 degrees here. I had to work half the day but when I came home we promptly got to work on spring clean up. We have several probably 100+ year old maple trees in our yard and they always drop their leaves at the end of the season. Let me tell you, there were a metric butt ton of leaves. (Between fall and spring, we’ve raked about 50-55 bags of leaves.) Add in all the rain last fall and we were not able to get everything up by the last leaf pick up of the year. So, that meant a messy yard when the snow melted.
The dogs had an intense game of ball and then hung out on the patio while we worked in the yard. The fresh spring day had everyone feeling lovely.

I was so happy in fact, that I picked up a house plant for the first time in about 10 years.

There were signs of green life springing up all over the yard and it just made me want to go out and buy MORE plants/trees/bushes.

I’m ready for all of this. The cold and gray was really putting a funk on my life. One day of sunshine and I was ready to live outside.
What are your Spring plans? Looking forward to planting anything special?
We live in a condo for this exact reason. I HATE yardwork. So much so that I have to be pretty desperate to accept it for pay π
Haha! Now that’s some dedication to avoiding yard work. π Regular yard work doesn’t bother me much but we’re going to pay someone to take care of it this fall. It’s just too much.
Yep, I really do hate it that much π
At some point an area does just become too big to deal with “on the side” and you either have to dedicate whole days to it, or as you noted, pay someone to spend days on it.
My husband and I don’t really enjoy yard work, but we do feel the need to buy new plants this time of year too, for some odd reason! Mother nature at work being sneaky, I guess π
We’re so desperate for her green love after a shitty winter, we must make offerings to the earth. π
Good luck with your plant! I’ve killed every single one I’ve ever had despite my best efforts, I don’t know what’s wrong with me! It’s a cactus, right? Those are supposed to be easier, maybe I need to try one too.
The only inside plant I’ve managed to keep alive is a money tree at work. It only needs to be water twice a week and replanted when it gets too big. 7 years I’ve kept that bad boy alive, it’s my pride and joy lol. Then someone dropped us off a Poinsetta and that damn thing won’t die either. D:
HA that’s amazing!! Maybe I need to try those instead, that money tree sounds manageable.
Super easy. You just water twice per week and replant when it gets too big. π
Is that an aloe plant? I had to laugh because I’ve actually killed one of those before. π Beautiful pics! I’m excited spring is finally here, but not for the yardwork and weeds of course. π Your pup is adorable.
It is! I’ve killed one too….by moving away, not taking it and my dad never watered it again. He says he thinks it lasted a year without proper watering lol.
π Mine was left outside. They are pretty hardy though!
Nice little post. What made the ball game so intense? Haha. When I throw a ball for my Jack Russell he looks at me as if to say βit doesnβt even smell like food you prickβ
I think the intensity comes 100% from her lol. I have a decent arm but she’ll just go until she drops. Ball is her favorite thing in the world, next to treats.
Yay for good weather!
Doggie is adorable! β€
And good luck with the plant π I don't own one for like 10 years… they always mysteriously die soon after i acquire them…
So far it’s still alive! π I had to yell at my husband not to water it when I wasn’t looking or we’re going to over water it lol.
