I have returned my little beauties! Nashville was fun. We stayed at a resort that was like an indoor city all itself. We didn’t have to leave at all since the convention center and hotel was inside the resort, but of course we needed to explore Nashville a little as well.
It was the CMA Music Festival which was unfortunate for the likes of us, as we’re all metal fans. (Boss included.) So we avoided the downtown area and checked out The Gulch and Midtown. The Gulch was pretty awesome and Midtown was filled with college kids and quickly became annoying. However, it had an awesome pizza joint called Two Boots. If you don’t want to wait in the long line for Hattie B’s hot chicken, Two Boots is a couple blocks away and has a hot chicken pizza. You should always ask your Uber drivers about local venues to check out, otherwise, we would have never found this place. We checked out two local breweries as well. I’ll review those in another post.
The PioneerRx conference was fantastic. If your pharmacy isn’t already using this software system, you need to check it out. We’ve had it since we opened the pharmacy 6.5 years ago and I still learned a ton about features we hadn’t even touched yet. The speakers were inspiring and the whole thing pumped my boss and I full of ideas for the pharmacy. We’re basically going to revamp the entire place. Work is about to get even busier, but I’m excited about it.
I needed the time away to reinvigorate my motivation to focus on fitness and really getting some things done in my life. The food in Tennessee was wonderful and probably completely unhealthy, which I was planning on, kind of a last hoo-rah before I got down to business when I returned.
I’m so happy to be home though. I missed my tiny personal queendom and my fur critters.
A couple pics of the lovely resort, the Gaylord Opryland Resort:
I’d love to visit Nashville! Plus there’s a bookstore I’m dying to go to called Parnasus Books. Your resort is so beautiful, sounds like a nice relaxing timeπ
There appeared to be a few independent bookstores that I would have LOVED to check out. Unfortunately, the time the classes took up pretty much ate any time to do anything else but eat and drink.
Parnassus is the best!
Glad you had a good one. Iβd love to visit Nashville one day for the music history.
We didn’t get to do much outside of the classes. There are a bunch of cool museums but since they have bank hours we didn’t get to see any of those either. My husband really wanted to go to this vintage guitar shop but again, short hours. Most people probably don’t complain if their boss likes to drink and eat but I’m a history nerd, I want to go do all the touristy things.
Iβm all for drinking and eating but yeah I like my history too
What a gorgeous resort. π I’m so glad your trip went so well and that it left you guys feeling so inspired.
Yes, now just to hire new people so we can get back to focusing on those new things. π
An indoor resort city sounds like a kingdom I’d love to rule! But I, too, would eventually like to return to my smaller realm, er, well Princess Garnet’s smaller realm. Glad you had a good time, though, and those pics are gorgeous! I’m sure the puppies were overjoyed to see you again π
The down side to the indoor city was that everything was triple the price and not really worth it food wise. But it was really fun for a weekend away even if I had to work during it. Samus apparently didn’t seem to care that we were gone and Ozzy whined the whole time lol. Lots of snuggles ensued when we got home. π
Ugh sounds about right. They always do that kind of shit because they know it’s a pain in the ass for you to go anywhere else and they take advantage. It’s like the amusement park.
Cid will be up my butt if I’m gone for just a few hours on the weekend. It’s like how do you know it’s the weekend because you don’t act like this when I’m at work? I don’t get too aggravated with him though. They have so much less time than we do, so a day is a lot longer to him than to me, or you know it’s a bigger percentage chunk of his time.
I feel like we’ve been so busy lately that we’ve got to make up for it while we’re home. I’m sure they get bored as fuck while we’re gone so play time ensues when we get home to get some energy out and then lazy snuggles. Zelda (cat) gets her pets/cuddles at bedtime. She knows its HER time and she will demand we get to bed if we’re not there at the pre-sanctioned cat time.
Cats are ridiculous. I want to pet them all.
Glad you liked βmyβ town!
