Hyperbole and a Half: Unfortunate situations, flawed coping mechanisms, mayhem and other things that happened.
5 out of 5 stars
The first thing that comes to mind when thinking about this graphic novel is that it is legitimately funny as fuck.
The second thing is that it is incredibly relevant. Her descriptions of depression are a poignant portrayal of an illness so many people live with everyday. The reactions of people around depressed people who themselves are not depressed was also accurately represented. It shines a blinding light on the subject while also poking fun at it, making it easier for people to absorb. (Both for those who are depressed and recognize the resemblance of their own lives and educating people who may have a depressed loved one in their life.)
Come for the heart-felt laughs and leave moved with a better understanding.
Awesome review. š I love these comics. ā¤
Holy shit she has a book?? I didn’t know she had a book out. I freaking love those comics, and yes, they are relatable. I’m so happy I’m not the only person who thinks the weirdest shit.
She’s supposedly working on a second book as well but it’s been a few years in development and she’s disappeared from the web, so no telling if it will ever happen.
