DNF at 40%
It was an interesting concept that was poorly executed. I kept trying to push further but the parallels with Harry Potter just kept getting more and more prevalent. All situations were easily and conveniently resolved and the characters bland.
Overall, it wasn’t bad but it definitely wasn’t good and there was nothing to keep me going.
Uh oh, the dreaded DNF list. Not a place even the bravest of books wish to go. That’s too bad. It’s always disappointing to read a book that has so much potential but just isn’t carried out to its full potential.
My friend called it historical fiction (which was kind of a stretch) that left you feeling all pumpkin spice….did not feel the spice at all.
A lack of pumpkin spice and history where it is promised is practically a crime. I would have been disappointed too!!
Especially after spending $3.99. I usually don’t go about $1.99 on Kindle books unless it’s our BC book and this one I thought would be worth it. =/
Aw, that’s a double bummer. 😦
Your reaction gifs are gold. I kept seeing this book on my feed, but the blurb didn’t really strike me, and you’re not the first to compare it to the great HP.
I had high hopes that were pretty quickly dashed. =/
No point wasting your time then!
