Holy Crap Batman!

If you haven’t heard about the shootings at a Colorado screening of The Dark Knight Rises you probably live under a rock. But just in case you’re not from the States you can get all caught up right here.

Now obviously none of this was under control of Mr. Bruce Wayne himself but you might be surprised how many double takes you get now while wearing a Batman shirt running your errands.

I didn’t even think twice before I put on the shirt. Regardless I received an uncountable amount of double takes between all the stores I stopped at in one day. It REALLY pissed me off. These people are playing right into one man not only ruining and ending lives but also attempting to ruin Batman.

Needless to say I won’t let this damper my love of the Bat, nor will I stop wearing the bat signal shirt.

Because you can’t keep the Dark Knight down!

P.S. Michelle Pfeiffer is the best Catwoman ever! (In my opinion.)

Oh Sweet Heavens

Dear Beautiful and Clever Cupcakesandmachetes,

Oh where did you go my dear love? Your silence is bringing me such woe! How could you leave me high and dry like this? I’ve loved you ever since the first day I read your blog about raining menstrual blood. Need I say more?!

I crave your insightful posts as I crave fatty fatty cake!

Love always,

Your biggest fan ever.

There are a million ways to make yourself feel like your opinions matter. This here is the best example ever. Write your own fanmail. No trolls.

But seriously, I should be receiving messages like this on a daily basis due to my incredible amounts of awesome.

Book Wyrm

I have to say that books could very well be the best invention ever. No joke.

Maybe it’s because I’ve always had an overactive imagination. I’ve never read a book that I didn’t finish. Whether I like it or not, I have to know how it ends. It will seriously bug me if I don’t know.

So the second best invention ever would clearly be the library. Now most books I read within a couple days (a couple hours if I’m uninterrupted) so this would make frequently buying books quite the expensive hobby. But some beautiful soul out there decided, “Hey. Let’s get a crap ton of books and let people read them for free.”

My favorite genre would probably be fantasy. This is a pretty wide category but so many things I like fit into it.

The very top of my list; George RR Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series. (Also known as the Game of Thrones series.) But no matter how good the HBO show (and that can be debatable in itself this last season) the books are even better. I couldn’t even begin to describe all the reasons that people should read this series. Just go buy the first book, read it and understand every single thing I just said.

Chuck Palahniuk is also a favorite author of mine. (Fight Club, Invisible Monsters, Choke, etc.)

In the last few months I’ve been trying out a lot of new authors. Laurell K. Hamilton and Charlaine Harris for example. Both have two or more series going and I can’t decide which series I like best.

I could probably talk books forever. Which would be why I am so damn excited that my local library is having a “Bag Sale”. This is where you bring a book bag and for $5 you can fill it up with all the used books you can fit! Second bag is FREE. You bet your sweet ass I’m bringing a second bag.

What are your favorite books or authors or genres and why?

My Feminine Wiles

I may knock girls quite a bit but to be truthful, I am absolutely horrible at being one.

Example A (and most prolific): When on my period I regularly forget to take tampons anywhere with me. Therefore, I have to buy a new box while I’m out. I end up with so many boxes under my sink you’d think I was hemorrhaging.

Example B: I am very open about these things….obviously. Much to the horror of people afraid to talk biology. *cough* men *cough*
